Job Function

The role will involve supporting and promoting the dealership’s John Deere Precision Agriculture & Turf portfolio by demonstrating the features and benefits of the range of products and services we supply. You will be prospecting across the area, qualifying potential customers with the correct products for their needs, providing detailed quotes and closing deals.

You will be helping our customers get the most out of their equipment and Farm Management software. This will be through machine optimization and driver training along with providing valuable insights from machine data to help them run their operation more efficiently. You will also be required to support both our staff and customers with queries and issues regarding the product portfolio. This is a fast-moving and dynamic role in a rapidly expanding and developing team, your input will help drive the future growth of our business.

The successful applicant will have experience of working in the agricultural, plant or related industry and be comfortable with using new technology. They should have a keen interest in Precision Agriculture and/or Machine learning and a thirst for knowledge. Great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people are a must and a qualification in Agriculture or related topics would be an advantage.

Essential Duties

  • Provide support for advanced Precision Ag & Turf products both on-site and remotely.
  • Provide out-of-hours and weekend support in busy periods on a rota basis.
  • Deliver internal and external training for Precision Ag & Turf products.
  • Support the sales team with all aspects of selling Technology products and services.
  • Assist at various agricultural shows across the Sherriff area.
  • Sell, install and set up Technology products and support packages both in our outlets and on-site.
  • Keep track of recommended parts and wholegoods stock, booking out and restocking as necessary.
  • Use computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics CRM to track prospects and opportunities.
  • Promote, maintain and support our Mobile RTK network.
  • Maintain customer data protection agreements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in an agriculture-related role
  • Clear understanding of the “commercial aspects” of value-added services
  • Advanced customer relationship skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Some mechanical and electrical knowledge would be an advantage
  • Able to work in a team environment
